Governor's Institute of Vermont

Vermont's flagship summer program for talented teens, the Governor's Institutes offers 8 summer Institutes that gather teenagers from every high school in Vermont to study in-depth on the topics of their choice, such as Arts, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, Current Issues and more. All Institutes are residential, take place on college campuses, and offer sliding scale tuition to meet all family budgets.

The Summer Governor’s Institutes of Vermont

Each year over a dozen Brattleboro Union High School students are selected to attend one of ten diverse summer institutes that run on various campuses throughout Vermont.  Students who have completed ninth, tenth or eleventh grade are eligible to apply. The Institutes are: Arts, Asian Cultures, Astronomy, Current Issues and Youth Activism, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Science and Technology, Information Technology and Digital Media, Mathematical Sciences, and Young Writers.  More information and an online application are available on the GIV website:
