Welcome to the 2016-17 school year! Our custodial staff has been working hard on the building and it looks amazing! Throughout the summer we've also had many teachers in the building working on their own curricula and getting us ready for the transition to a proficiency based system. This multi-year transition will lead to greater personalization of instruction and assessment and will allow our students to have multiple opportunities to demonstrate their mastery on content and their growth through out their high school careers.
A few other quick, but important notes:
Brattleboro Area Prevention Coalition will offer a parent/student education session on prescription drug abuse on August 29th at 7 PM. Please plan to attend this very important event with your child. There will be separate student and parents sessions on that evening.
We're also getting ready to distribute Chromebooks to the Class of 2020! Detailed information about the required ninth grade parent meeting on August 30th at 6PM has been mailed to parents.
The BUHS Boosters Club is an organization that supports our athletes and greatly enhances our entire program. The fundraising they do through the Colonels Den and other endeavors directly benefits all BUHS athletes and their families. The leadership of the Boosters will be turning over the leadership reins this fall and they are actively seeking parents and guardians to step in and help out in some capacity. Please let us know how you'll be willing to help out. A huge thanks for the current booster team for their tireless work for many years.
Enjoy these last weeks of summer!
